Renter reference copy
Last updated July 6, 2026
This page is a reference copy, published for transparency. The binding version is presented in your operator’s storefront at checkout — that version governs your rental.

Electronic signature and records consent (reference copy)

This is a reference copy of the consent renters see before e-signing anything on a Rentavoq-powered storefront. It exists here for transparency. The binding version — with your operator's name and your booking details filled in — is presented in your operator's storefront at checkout, and that version governs.

1. Consent to use electronic records and signatures

By checking the box, clicking "I agree," or applying an electronic signature, you agree that the federal Electronic Signatures in Global and National Commerce Act (ESIGN, 15 U.S.C. § 7001 and following) and the Indiana Uniform Electronic Transactions Act (UETA, Indiana Code 26-2-8) govern your transaction with your rental operator, and you consent to:

  • conducting the transaction by electronic means;
  • receiving records electronically — agreements, disclosures, inspection reports, receipts, notices, and post-rental statements; and
  • using electronic signatures, which have the same legal effect as handwritten signatures.

An electronic record or signature will not be denied legal effect solely because it is electronic.

2. What the consent covers

The consent applies to the rental agreement, the GPS/telematics and insurance consent with card-on-file authorization, the damage and claims policy, the cancellation and refund policy, all addenda, legally required disclosures, inspection records, and all related notices for your booking — and, unless withdrawn, to future transactions with the same operator.

3. Hardware and software you need

To access and keep electronic records you need: a device with internet access, a current web browser, a valid email address, and the ability to view and download PDF documents. By proceeding, you confirm you can access records in these formats.

4. Your right to paper copies

You may request a free paper copy of any electronic record by contacting your operator. Requesting a paper copy does not, by itself, withdraw your consent to electronic records.

5. Withdrawing consent

You may withdraw your consent to receive records electronically at any time by contacting your operator. Withdrawal is prospective only — it does not affect the validity of records or signatures made before withdrawal. The operator may be unable to continue providing certain online services after withdrawal.

6. Keeping your information current

You agree to keep your email and contact information current and to notify your operator of changes.

7. Signature integrity and audit trail

Each electronic signature is captured with a tamper-evident audit trail — signer identity, timestamp, IP address, and document hash — through the operator's e-sign provider. The audit record is retained for at least two years.

8. Acknowledgment

At checkout, you confirm that you have read the consent, that you can access electronic records, and that you consent as described. The signed consent is versioned and stored with your booking.
